Country music legend Hank Williams' radio show from 70 years ago is now available in its entirety! The treasured recordings of country music's first superstar, who passed away at the age of just 29, have been brought back to life in a new sound format! Country music legend Hank Williams. His songs, which had a great influence not only on country music but also on rock music, have been covered by everyone from Bob Dylan and Al Green to Beck and Jack White, and he had many Top 10 singles, including 11 No. 1 hits in the United States. Now available in its entirety is the complete recording of his radio show from 70 years ago, recorded by Hank Williams and his Drifting Cowboys at WSM Studios for their eight-part radio program, "Health & Happiness Show," which aired in October 1949. This is THE COMPLETE HEALTH & HAPPINESS SHOWS [3LP VINYL], a set of three analog LPs containing the entire performance.The songs on the CD are mostly his hits and classics such as "Lovesick Blue," "Wedding Bells," "Mansion On The Hill," "I Saw The Light," and "Lost Highway," as well as standard numbers, but there are some rare tracks, such as the only known recording of "The Tramp On The Street," a song that was only included in a self-published songbook released a few years before the radio show. This recording was also his first recording with what would become his most famous backing band, The Drifting Cowboys. Of course, it also features the fiddle of Jerry Rivers, a member of the band. The performance recorded here was recorded by direct cutting to acetate, from which it was copied onto 16-inch analog discs and delivered to radio stations throughout the United States. This collection captures the complete studio performance in its entirety, including song introductions by WSM studio DJ Grant Turner.In the 1970s, the acetate was nearly discarded, but the WSM studio staff saved it, and it eventually came into the hands of Hank's daughter, Jet. She spent a long time to acquire the ownership of the recordings. This album is a restored and remastered "complete" version of the original 16" disc. Remastered and produced by award-winning reissuers Cheryl Pawelski, Colin Escott, and Michael Graves.
