Piano wizard Cyprian Katsaris to urgently release a commemorative disc for his visit to Japan! An intriguing series of releases showcasing the unknown pianos of Greece is about to begin! The latest album by Cyprian Katsaris, a wizard of the keyboard and an incarnation of superb technique, is released on the French label Melism, founded by Greek pianist Nikolaos Samartanos, who was also the recording producer for Katsaris' recent albums on his own Piano 21 label. Melism", a French label founded by Greek pianist Nikolaos Sammartanos, who was also a recording producer on his own "Piano 21" label. This is an emergency release to commemorate his visit to Japan in April 2022! The new album, produced by Nikolaos Samartanos, is a series of Greek music, which is closely related to the roots of Katsaris, who is of Cypriot descent. The series will discover, rediscover, and introduce to the world works that have not been performed very often or that are unknown outside of Greece. The first volume in the series features works by three Greek composers.Yannis Papaioannou (1910-1989), who lived through the 20th century and composed in a great variety of styles, including many works written for rather unusual orchestration. Yannis Constantinidis (1903-1984), who has worked to combine elements of impressionistic music with Greek folk heritage (especially ancient rhythms and modes). Dimitri Levidis (1886-1951), who won the Franz Liszt Composition Prize in Munich for his "Greek Romantic Sonata No. 1," also included on this album. Katsaris, who has often featured works by Greece's greatest musician of the 20th century, Mikis Theodorakis, will explore the depths of Greek piano works. Expect a lot of fun! Tokyo M-Plus
