Emile Londonian is a jazz unit based in Strasbourg, northeastern France. Formed by Nils Boigny on keys, Theo Torich on bass, and Mathieu Drago on drums, all three of whom studied at the Strasbourg Conservatory of Music, the band debuted in 2021. The band's name is a tribute to the British music scene and French saxophonist Emile Parisien, both of which influenced them. Emile Parisien also participated in this album. Giles Peterson, who sees them as his successors, has also expressed his admiration for the band. I saw them live recently," he said. They are a celebration of the last 10-15 years of the UK jazz scene. This is a crossroads." The band has also performed at the Worldwide Festival in Sate, France, the Montreux Jazz Festival in the summer of 2021, and Nancy Jazz Pulsations.Together with Youssef Kamar, Saint-La, Ornette Coleman and Thelonious Monk, and with Leon Phal, whose sound is similar to theirs, influenced by the broken beat, jazz, house, and hip-hop scenes, they represent the "next generation" of French jazz, transcending labels and mixing traditional and contemporary mixing traditional and contemporary music.
