From Scheidemann to J.S. Bach, "The Art of the Polyphonic Organ" is condensed in this one disc. In the 17th and 18th centuries in Germany and northern Europe, polyphonic music, which means many notes and many voices, was developed by pipe organs. In this album, the virtuoso Michel Bouvard performs works by Scheidemann, Scheidt, van Noort, Tunder, Buxtehude, Böhm, and J.S. Bach. The compositions here clearly show that J.S. Bach, a composer who can be considered the pinnacle of the golden age of organ music, was greatly influenced by the composers who came before him, and the works recorded here provide an enjoyable experience of "polyphonic organ art". The organ for the performance was commissioned by Bouvard's favorite pupil, Thomas Ospital, who was inspired by a historical Dutch organ and commissioned the Dominique Thomas workshop in the heart of the Basque Country to build the organ, which was installed in the Ghibourg church. It is performed by the contemporary virtuoso Bouvard.
