This piece traces in sound the history of the development of the musical expression of love from the Renaissance to the end of the Baroque period. The soprano, theorbo, baroque guitar, and viola depict various forms of love, from one-night stands to eternal love. The performance is rich in romance and imagination, reminiscent of medieval minstrelsy. Soprano Blondil, who first caught the world's attention in 2021 with her voice and magnetic presence in Christie's "Teton et Orolle," is a soprano who has been a member of the Academy of the Théâtre de la Monnaie since its inception. A particularly sought-after performer of 17th- and 18th-century music, she has become an indispensable figure in the staging of baroque operas. In addition to Christie, she has performed with conductors such as Alarcon, Rousset, Herreweghe, Doce, and Hengelbrock. After graduating from the Buenos Aires School of the Arts, Quito Gato continued his studies at Berklee to pursue composition and improvisation. He studied lute, baroque guitar, viola, and theorbo with Hopkinson Smith and Eguess. He has participated in baroque ensembles worldwide.
