Masayuki Tayama, who continues to perform primarily in London The third installment in his series of Rachmaninoff works, his specialty! Masayuki Tayama spent his childhood in London. He studied in the Soloist Diploma Program at Toho Gakuen University, then returned to the UK to earn a Performer’s Diploma and receive a Special Award from both the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. At the 16th Takahiro Sonoda Prize Piano Competition, he performed Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Heichiro Oyama, and was awarded the Takahiro Sonoda Prize (First Prize). He has received numerous other awards, including a Special Prize from the European Beethoven Piano Association at the London International Piano Competition and First Prize at the Blunt Birmingham International Piano Competition in the UK. He currently performs primarily in London. With the goal of recording the complete works of Rachmaninoff, he has already released “Sonatas Nos. 1 and 2” and “Etudes.” Tobu Land System
