BRUIT, a post-rock quartet from Toulouse, France, formed in 2016 under the leadership of violinist/bassist Clement Libes (vl/b), who was active in the French indie pop scene with KID WISE and others, digitally released their two-track debut EP 'MONOLITH' in 2018. This EP is now available on the renowned metal scene label Pelagic Records for physical release in 2025. Metal Scene's Prestigious Label: Pelagic Records. Its cinematic musicality, where explosive post-rock rawly expresses inner emotions and elegant modern classical sounds from live violin/cello are woven together using electronica techniques like electro beats and post-production, creating a dynamic interplay of release and stillness, delivered a shockwave to the scene. An essential work for understanding the band's journey and, by extension, the current post-rock scene—a prototype for their 2021 debut album 'THE MACHINE IS BURNING~'.A delicate pizzicato by violin/cello serves as the introduction, giving rise to expansive strings creating a great undulation, pointillistic synth tones, and propulsive drum beats form a tense soundscape in "Bloom." From its downtempo, dark ambient-leaning first half—where delicate electro beats pulsate and mystical arpeggios slowly build the sonic palette—it transitions through a sample of Bernie Sanders' speech from 2003 challenging the wealth gap between the affluent and working classes. The album features two tracks: "Bloom," which creates a tense soundscape with expansive strings, pointillistic synth tones, and propulsive drum beats; and "The Fall," which transitions from a downtempo/dark ambient opening to a crescendo of beautiful string arrangements and chaotic, powerful band sounds, culminating in a peak of exhilaration at its climax.
