A.Savage, frontman of the Brooklyn-based danceable rock band Parquet Courts, has released his second solo album, "Several Songs About Fire," on Rough Trade, following his 2017 solo debut, "Thawing Dawn"! Produced by John Parish, known for his work with PJ Harvey and The Eels, the album features support from Jack Cooper (Modern Nature, Ultimate Painting), Cate Le Bon, and members of Kamikaze Palm Tree and The album is supported by Jack Cooper (Modern Nature, Ultimate Painting), Cate Le Bon and members of Kamikaze Palm Tree and caroline.Although all 10 songs were produced using a 16-track tape recorder, some of the compositions were done in the English countryside, and Savage and Cooper worked late into the night while trying not to wake the sleeping Cooper's daughter. From "Le Grand Balloon," bursting with the South American instrument guiro, to the preceding single "Elvis in the Army," which explores the relationship between geographic information and identity, Several Songs about Fire is the result of Savage's dedicated research into the customs and traditions of each region It is the result of Savage's dedicated study of local customs and traditions, and is sprinkled with many of his keen insights into society. Wealth and poverty, self and others, life and death... Savage kindles the flames of hope and curses in today's blue-lit world!
