The Alliage Quintet, whose name means "mixed," is a saxophone quintet (four saxophones and piano) led by Daniel Gauthier, a student of Rondex who has already released three albums on the Sony Classical label. Their past albums have been highly acclaimed for their "full sound that makes you feel as if it were an orchestra...it is hard to believe that it is an ensemble of only five members," and their musical activities have attracted much attention for the new light they shed on previously known works with their original arrangements.
