Chandos resident artist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet has been listening to the new world of Chandos at a high level, as evidenced by his "Orchestra Choice of the Month" in the September 2010 issue of BBC Music Magazine. For his second concerto recording for Chandos, following Bartók, Bavouzet chose Ravel and Debussy, two of his most famous works! Bavouzet, who is best known for his French repertoire, has completed the complete works for piano by Debussy at Chandos and Ravel while at MDG, both of which have been highly acclaimed as top-class masterpieces and standards of the 21st century.For this reason, expectations and interest in Bavouzet's decision to record the Ravel and Debussy concertos are naturally high! Another exciting aspect is the coupling of Massenet's piano works, which are being performed for the first time.
