Sophie Yates! Plays the Fitzwilliam Collection! Sophie Yates, Chandos' prized old-time keyboardist, who studied with Ruth Dyson and Robert Woolley in England and with Bob van Asperen in the Netherlands, began her international career by winning an international competition at the Boston Festival of Old Music. The Fitzwilliam Museum at Cambridge University was founded by Richard Fitzwilliam (1745-1816), an Irish philologist, music lover, amateur composer, and harpsichordist, and contains his collection of rare 18th century English musical heritage. Yeats uses a rare instrument from the Fitzwilliam Museum collection, an original harpsichord made by Giovanni Battista Boni, and plays pieces from the Fitzwilliam Collection (Fitzwilliam Virginal Book, Tisdale's Virginal Book, 17 Sonatas, etc.).
