The Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra led by Johannes Klumpp presents the 26th collection of Haydn's four symphonies composed around 1760-1761! The Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra's recording series of Haydn's complete symphonies, with its dashing period approach, is irresistible. The orchestra's performances of Haydn's Symphonies No. 88, No. 92 "Oxford", No. 94 "Astonishment", No. 102 and No. 104 "London" were ranked No. 1 in the special issue of "Masterpieces of the New Era 500" by Record Geijutsu magazine. The recording of this series has been led by the prodigious Thomas Fai, but was halted in 2014 after he fell and seriously injured himself at home. Recording resumed in 2016 under the direction of Benjamin Spillner, and Johannes Klumpp was appointed as the new music director for the 2020/2021 season. Volume 26, which follows Volume 25, features four symphonies composed circa 1760-1761, prior to his service at the Esterházy Palace.
