Mangani, who studied clarinet, ensemble and compositional conducting at the Rossini Conservatory in Pesaro, Italy, and choral music and choral conducting at the Martini Conservatory in Bologna, is particularly well known for his clarinet works. In 19th century Italy, it was difficult to reproduce operas and other performances, even for those privileged enough to have their own orchestras. Therefore, it was fashionable to reproduce them in small orchestras, and many transcriptions of operas were created. In this album, Puccini's most famous operas are reproduced with clarinet and piano. (Tokyo M-Plus)
