Madeleine de Valmalate (1899-1999) was a French pianist who graduated at the top of her class from the Paris Conservatory at the age of 14, and was even praised for her talent by Saint-Saenskas. In 1926, he settled in Marseille, where he established a private piano school and taught younger students while remaining active as a soloist into his old age. Monique Arth studied at the Paris Conservatory with Lazare Lévy, and also with Rudolf Serkin and Robert Casadoche. She gained fame for her performances of 20th century music after Debussy, but she was also well known for her performances of Couperin, Rameau, Schumann, and Chopin. In this album, he performs not only Debussy, Messiaen, and Bartók, which are his specialty, but also Rameau. Tobu Shoji Co.
