This time we have the bright and cheerful No. 3, which clearly shows Schubert as a composer of songs, the famous No. 4, subtitled "Tragic," and the No. 5, which is said to symbolize the rococo and petty-bourgeois sentiment of life. The new album also features the vivid orchestration of Schubert's symphonies, which are full of contemporary sensibility and bring out new charms in Schubert's symphonies! Since his appointment as music director of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra in 1997, Dausgaard has recorded extensively for the BIS and SIMAX labels.
