Radiohead drummer Philip Selway's new album "Strange Dance," his third album in eight and a half years, is now available. Guests: Hannah Peel, Adrian Utley (Portishead), Quinta, Marta Saroni, Valentina Magaretti, Laura Moody When Philip Selway approached some of his favorite musicians to play on his third solo album, he asked, "What if Carole King collaborated with pioneering electronic composer Daphne Oram and asked her to play drums? The ten songs Selway wrote at home on piano and guitar are a testament to his songwriting abilities. As the album unfolds, the listener experiences different weather conditions and seasons. Each song carries emotions of diverse and varied hues and textures. The lyrics are also artful; Selway has a gift for writing lyrics that resonate and relate to every human experience.From the album's opening track, "Little Things," a new sense of scale is immediately apparent. Following his acoustic first solo album, "Familial," and "Weatherhouse," made in collaboration with Adem Ilhan and Quinta, "Strange Dance" is the result of Selway putting all the skills and Philip Selway was born in Abingdon, Oxford, England. Best known as the drummer for the rock band Radiohead, and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he released his first solo album, Familial, in 2010 and his second solo album, Weatherhouse, in 2014 on Bella Union. He also worked on the soundtrack for the film "Let Me Go" in 2017.
