Description:

George Harrison, lead guitarist and vocalist for The Beatles, achieved worldwide success as a member of The Beatles in the 1960s, and after the band broke up, he became active as a solo artist, presiding over the first charity concert in rock history, the "Bangladesh Concert," in 1971. In 1991, he visited Japan to perform a joint concert with Eric Clapton. However, he died in November 2001. In May 1974, George Harrison established the Dark Horse Records label, releasing albums by artists he had produced and by Ravi Shankar, whom he respected as a mentor. He released albums by artists he produced and works by Ravi Shankar, whom he respected as his spiritual master. With the release of his fifth solo album, "Dark Horse," in November of the same year, he and Ravi Shankar embarked on the "Dark Horse Tour," the first large-scale 45-show North American tour since the Beatles' breakup. The November 12 concert in Inglewood, California will be recorded and broadcast for a special program on a local FM station. This live album is based on the soundtrack used for the broadcast and features performances by George Harrison and Ravi Shankar. The concert, which consisted of a varied set list including songs from The Beatles, representative solo songs, and songs by Ravi Shankar and Tom Scott, who backed him, was super exciting and a wonderful performance that reminded the audience of George Harrison's abilities as a solo artist. The concert was super exciting. A bonus track, a Texas performance of 'My Sweet Lord,' George Harrison's biggest solo hit, is also included.Imported Japanese vinyl with Japanese obi and bilingual liner notes>George Harrison (vo, g)Billy Preston (vo, kbds)Robben Ford (g)Willie Weeks (b)Andy Newmark (ds)Tom Scott (sax, fl)Jim Horn (sax)Chuck Findlay (tp)Emile Richards (perc)Ravi Shankar (sitar, conductor for Shankar's orchestra)Kumar Shankar (tp)Ravi Shankar (sitar, conductor for Shankar's orchestra)Chuck Shankar (tp)Ravi Shankar (perc) Findlay (tp)Emile Richards (perc)Ravi Shankar (sitar, conductor for Shankar's orchestra)Kumar Shankar (perc, vo)Lakshmi Shankar (vo)*Track 6-9
