Cradle To Grave

Description:

Formed by Maru (vocals/guitar, formerly of SPROCKET WHEEL) and HDK (bass, formerly of JUST ONE DAY), with the addition of Rickey (guitar, formerly of WATER CLOSET), Tokyo-based melodic punk band CRADLE TO GRAVE returns with their third album after an eight-year hiatus!! This 2011 album marks their first new release in eight years since their split CD with Niigata's SPRAY PAINT. It's actually their first full album release in nine years. While the band currently features former LIFE INDICATOR members Shimazu and Natori, this recording features former member Chris (Canadian) on drums. Contains 8 tracks. 【Band Profile】 Formed in 1998 by vocalist/guitarist Maru (who disbanded SPROCKET WHEEL) alongside HDK (formerly of JUST ONE DAY). They recruited Nakagawa, the original drummer from ZERO FAST, on drums to form a three-piece. Later, they added Daiju (formerly of BACK STABBER) on guitar/vocals, becoming a four-piece.This lineup released their 1st single on the SNUFFY SMILE label and a split 7-inch with EAT TO THE FULL on MANGROVE. Members other than Maru and HDK left, and Rickey (formerly of SPROCKET WHEEL~WATER CLOSET) and Ani (formerly of DUDOOS, later also of WATER CLOSET) joined on guitar. This four-member lineup released their 1st mini-album "CRADLE TO GRAVE," their 2nd full-length album "FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE," and a split CD with Niigata's SPRAY PAINT (who disbanded much to everyone's regret) on HDK's newly launched label, SQUIRREL FOX. During this period, the band organized and hosted the free live event "Sunday Revolution" at Yoyogi Park. Held four times in total, it featured performances by bands such as YOUR SONG IS GOOD, WATER CLOSET, GOD'S GUTS, MAN FRIDAY, and THERE IS A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT.Without a permanent drummer, the band operated with session members while adding Canadian drummer Chris as a full member. They released their third album, "Never Mind Cradle - Here's The Bollocks," through SQUIRREL FOX—their first release in eight years, consistent with their previous releases. Their live shows feature not only melodic bands but also frequent hardcore acts. They've also received requests to play with bands like KEN YOKOYAMA and BACK DROP BOMB, performing two-man shows with each. Furthermore, they've been specifically requested for shows by Canada's PROPAGANDHI during their Japan tours. Currently, the band is active with the addition of former LIFE INDICATOR guitarist Shimazu and drummer Natori, both members of their longtime allies EAT TO THE FULL, who previously released a split album with CRADLE TO GRAVE.
