Brahms:Viola Sonata No.2 in E-flat major, Op.120/ Bruch: Romance, Op.85/ Schumann:Fairy Tales, Op.113 Performers Shin Yoon-kyung (viola), Shin Yoon-Kyung (viola), Han Ji-Woong (piano) This is the first solo recording by Shin Yoon-kyung, a Korean musician who made his solo debut at the age of 7 with the Daegu Symphony Orchestra and studied at Temple University in Philadelphia under the legendary Yascha Brodsky, the last disciple of Ysaÿe. Initially, Shin Yoon-kyung mainly played the violin, but as he continued to perform, he became fascinated by the sound of the viola and decided to become a full-fledged viola player. It was a natural progression that his first solo recording would be a performance on the viola. Starting with the selection of the piece, Shin Yoon-kyung carefully analyzed the harmonic changes and structure, as well as the flow of the music, in order to grasp the composer's intentions and to get as close to them as possible. He has played a major role in raising the viola's profile as a solo instrument in Korea.
