Description:
Verdi: The Complete Opera “Aida” (with Japanese subtitles) Arena di Verona 2012 3D footage (hybrid version with 2D) The Arena di Verona Music Festival is a summer tradition held at the Arena, an ancient Roman amphitheater. Now, 3D footage from this open-air opera festival is available. The Arena di Verona Festival originally opened with *Aida* to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Verdi’s birth. This performance, a recreation of that historic production from 100 years ago, is a major release truly befitting the 200th anniversary of Verdi’s birth. In the role of Aida is Chinese soprano He Hui, who won first prize at the 42nd “Voci di Verdi” International Competition in Busseto in 2002. Her overwhelming presence makes it easy to understand why she is in such high demand throughout Europe. Experienced Verdi singers such as Marco Berti and Ambrogio Maestri also deliver excellent performances.
