Recital album by Ausias Parejo, winner of the Alhambra International Guitar Competition in 2022. 2006 born in Spain, Parejo learned guitar from the age of 4 under the guidance of his father, Ruben Parejo, a famous guitarist of Talega lineage. He has already won many first prizes in national and international competitions. Highly acclaimed for his superb technique, sensitivity, and nuanced interpretation, he has given concerts in the United States, Europe, and other parts of the world, and is scheduled to tour Japan in 2023. The three works included here are the rhythmic Guastavino Sonata No. 1, Ponce Sonata No. 2, a tribute to Segovia, and "City of Columns," inspired by a town associated with Browell. Other pieces include Juan Elena's "Light of Dawn," dedicated to the young Ausias, and "El Manantial," the subject of this year's competition, and a work dedicated by his father Rubén to his friend, guitarist Rosa Gil Bosquet.
