Description:
A string quartet work by two modern English composers. Olwyn originally worked as a flutist before becoming a composer. In addition to symphonic and orchestral works, he is best known as the composer of more than 70 film scores. An excellent educator, one of Olwin's students was Doreen Kerhuizen. She eventually became Olwyn's secretary and in 1975 became his wife. She did not like the name Doreen and usually used her middle name, Mary. Please note the difference in style between the two artists: the more modern Kerhuizen compared to the more flamboyant and narrative Olwynn works. Naxos Japan
