SOMMOR, a Spanish reissue label, has unearthed a hidden treasure of British proto hard rock. Hard and heavy, yet bluesy and glamorous, with a series of breathtaking songs. This is a rare project that fills in a piece of the lost puzzle of the early days of the band! Castle Farm was a five-piece hard rock band active near London in the late 60s and early 70s. They supported Rory Gallagher and Deep Purple, and made a solid mark on the local scene. Denny Newman later joined Mick Taylor's band (of the Rolling Stones) and remained at the forefront of the music scene for a long time, but Castle Farm itself was not lucky enough to get a deal and broke up after only one single ("Hot-Rod Queen/Mascot"). In the late 2000s, Castle Farm was suddenly caught on the radar of diggers and surfaced in the late 2000s, when a compilation of singles led to song rotation on Amelia's college radio, which inspired the band to release a single song and a studio that had remained unreleased until 2013. The band released a compilation of singles and previously unreleased studio recordings in digital format in 2013, which became a hot topic. This is the long-awaited physical release.The opening track, the powerful "(Maybe A Little Black) Witch", the guitar weepy "You Go Your Way", the heavy slow "I've Been Dreaming", the bluesy "All In A Year, All In A Day", and many others. The quality of the other songs is also high, and I am simply amazed that all of these were kept in storage.
