Description:
Songs by Ichiro Hirano, Toru Takemitsu, and Hikaru Hayashi by Masumi Yoshikawa, an expert in contemporary music. Songs by Ichiro Hirano, Toru Takemitsu, and Hikaru Hayashi, performed by contemporary music expert Masumi Yoshikawa. The three pianists, each of whom has a distinct personality, accompany the Japanese lyrics, sometimes violently crossing over into each other's music. Unlike WAONCD-330 "Four Seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter" by Ichiro Hirano (which won the 2015 Keizo Saji Award for the performance of this work and others), which uses special vocalization and body percussion to reproduce voices and sounds filled with nature, this time we have selected works with words to be performed. ≪The work "Jasumon, Mahasai" is based on a mono-opera of "Jasumon" by Kitahara Hakushu, a work that had fascinated Ichiro Hirano since he was 14 years old. Originally, the work consisted of 6 chapters, 15 instruments, a conductor, and voices (the work requires a variety of vocalizations, which are roughly classified into 6 levels, such as vowel singing, singing, recitation, and recitation). The result is included here. The world is drawn into the expression of Yoshikawa's words, which are neither real nor dreamlike. Takemitsu's work was recorded with a new arrangement by Hiroaki Takaha.Although not yet published, Hikaru Hayashi's work is based on a poem by Makoto Sato (playwright and director) about "America," which he sings as if he were speaking, and sometimes adds sounds that include shouts, fragments of West Side Story, and even jazz. Since the work is only preserved in its original score with few notes, chord names, and rhythmic outlines (a recording by the commissioner, Shuku Ito, and Hikaru Hayashi exists), the player is required to take a bold approach to this work.
