Velocity Girls were the standard-bearers of indie pop in the 1990s. Their 1993 debut album has been remixed/remastered and reissued with additional bonus tracks. Velocity Girl, one of the standard-bearers of indie pop in the 1990s, is reissuing their 1993 debut album as UltraCopacetic (Copacetic Remixed and Expanded). Velocity Girl formed around 1989 at the University of Maryland in the suburbs of Washington, DC. Shortly thereafter, the band settled into a permanent lineup of Archie Moore/Brian Nelson on guitar, Jim Spellman on drums, Kelly Riles on bass, and Sarah Shannon on vocals.The band blended British-style noisy shoegaze fuzz with scrappy US indie rock and classic 60's style pop songwriting, releasing a killer single on Slumberland and touring non-stop, gaining the attention of the indie rock crowd at the time. They were signed to Sub Pop.
