J.S. Bach's "Viola da gamba sonatas" are among the most famous of his works, but their potential is not yet well known. Johannes Koenig, assistant principal cellist of the Munich Symphony Orchestra, has arranged these three great sonatas for violin, cello, and double bass trio, showing new possibilities. Although they perform the work on modern instruments, their interpretation draws inspiration from historical performance experience and will show new aspects of "Bach's Three Gamba Sonatas." Megan Nenniger is a Canadian violinist who has been a first violinist since 2016 after studying at the Bavarian State Orchestra's Orchestra Academy. Johannes Koenig, who grew up in Regensburg, has been deputy principal cellist of the Munich Symphony Orchestra since 2023 and is also active as a freelancer in historical performance practice.Luxembourg double bassist Jean Hommel played in many bands from jazz to punk in his youth, studied electric jazz bass in Amsterdam, and switched to classical double bass.
