Armonie Universel plays Leclerc, the "French Corelli"! Jean-Marie Leclerc is a great master of French Baroque music. Known as the "French Corelli" and the founder of the French-Belgian violin school, Jean-Marie Leclerc left behind many wonderful and emotionally rich works. However, she is said to have had an unhappy last years, and although there was a time when she was a favorite of violinists of the past, she is not often performed nowadays. The violin duo Armonie Universel, consisting of Florian Deuter and Monika Weissmann, have fallen in love with Leclerc's music and have been performing it. They have previously released "Six Sonatas for Two Violins, Op. 3" on the Eloquentia label, and their performance is well-deserved.The "Sonata for Two Violins, Op.12" included in this recording is full of emotion and graceful melodies, and the sound of the two violins weaving together is like spinning twill silk.
