Description:
Guy's Beethoven masterpiece is born! François-Frédéric Guy, a genuine Beethoven player, recorded the complete violin sonatas with the brilliant violinist Papavrami. Guy, who is well-known as a Beethoven specialist, is a true musician, and his exquisite narration is truly a pleasure to listen to. Guy's ensemble with Papavlami is also perfect, and their sense of balance is superb. In the early works, the light, shimmering run-on phrases are sung with clarity, and from the middle period onward, a dynamic conflict between stillness and movement gradually emerges. Even the first movement of "Spring," which is often thought to be merely beautiful, expresses the intensity and intensity of the development and recapitulation sections, but without being overdone, and with exquisite taste. The powerful concerto of "Kreutzer" is also a must-hear, but the most masterful performance is No. 10, the last movement. The violin and piano are in perfect unison. Fantastic trills fluttered in the air, and the modulations, full of delicate foreboding, were like a watercolor painting. The performance, however, is a solid musical one, clearly evoking the same ground as Beethoven's piano sonatas and string quartets of the latter half of his life. This is a wonderful collection that you should definitely listen to. François-Frédéric Guy, born in France in 1969, is a pianist who has received great acclaim for his solid performances of German music. He has released the complete Brahms piano sonatas (EVCD-022) and the complete Beethoven cello sonatas (EVCD-015) with Xavier Phillips on the same EVCDENCE label, as well as the complete Beethoven piano sonatas and piano concertos on a different label. Beethoven has also released the complete piano sonatas, the complete piano concertos, and the complete cello sonatas with Anne Gastinel on other labels. Violinist Teddy Papavlami was born in Albania in 1971 and moved to France as a child. He has made many recordings of his music, and his autobiography, which was published, has attracted much attention. This is her first Beethoven disc, and many have been eagerly awaiting the CD since she and Guy performed a superb "Spring" together during their visit to Japan for La Folle Journée in 2017.
