Vivaldi / Piazzolla

Description:

Capella Gavetta/ Tango Seasons - Vivaldi & Piazzolla "Capella Gavetta" is a period instrument ensemble founded by violinist Andres Gavetta, brother of cellist Sol Gavetta, that has evolved into the best ensemble within a short preparation period! . Its members are invited not only from his friends but also from Il Giardino Armonico, the Basel Chamber Orchestra, and other prestigious period instrument groups. His recordings for Sony Classical and DHM are already highly acclaimed. The current recording is a combination of alternating performances of Vivaldi's famous concerto collection "The Four Seasons" in its entirety and the famous "The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires" by Astor Piazzolla, the renowned bandoneon player. There have been such performances and recordings in the past, but here both pieces are performed on period instruments. As expected, Piazzolla's bandoneon is a modern instrument, but gut strings, baroque bow, and harpsichord are used in this unique performance of Piazzolla's work.It highlights the differences in sound worlds between the youthful and passionate 18th century Italian Baroque and the 20th century Argentine Tango, and the sense of season in each of the two "Four Seasons," and in parts it seems as if Piazzolla was aware of Vivaldi. Moreover, "The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires" is an arranged version with bandoneon, violin, and chamber orchestra. Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi began playing the bandoneon at the age of 9. In 2009, he performed with Andrea Bocelli and Angela Gheorghiu at a charity concert for the earthquake in central Italy that was broadcast around the world and became a hot topic of conversation, and since then he has become one of the most popular bandoneon players in the world. Since then, he has gained popularity as one of the world's leading bandoneon players. The arrangement was made by Italian violinist and composer Roberto Molinelli. He is a popular composer who has collaborated with Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, and others, and has been commissioned to compose music by various orchestras.Molinelli's piece at the end of the album is a fusion of Vivaldi and Piazzolla, and the tone and music-making pursued by the two virtuosos on violin and bandoneon, respectively, skillfully accentuate the styles of the two composers, making this a performance that will keep your attention until the end.
