Dan + Shay have been actively incorporating pop, hip-hop, and R&B tastes into their sound.However, Dan says that for this album, he wanted to write songs that he and his live band could perform on stage in a bar somewhere at will, just as they were recorded. The lead single from the album, "Save Me The Trouble," is a soaring melodic chorus that truly embodies the "live" and "stripped down" feel that is the direction of this album. I've never been more proud of a song," Dan said of the song. We wanted to make something that would be a big moment. When we started writing this song, we knew it was going to be something big. We wanted to build up all the sections, and even in the second chorus, just when you think, okay, this can't get any crazier, Shay just builds it up. In addition to this song, which is sure to be the talk of the U.S. this summer, the album also includes "Heartbreak On The Map," "Bigger Houses," and 12 other songs.Dan and Shay participate in the songwriting of all songs, and their co-writers include Ashley Gorley, Lori McKenna, Jordan Reynolds, and other songwriters from the American folk and country scene and Nashville. In the 10 years since its formation, Dan + Shay have streamed their songs more than 11 billion times worldwide and released numerous No. 1 singles. They will be the first duo coaches to participate in season 25 of the popular U.S. audition show "The Voice," which begins next year, and have also released a short film, "The Drive," which documents the band's stormy past few years, which has never been made public.
