This is the 62nd release in the De Haske Festival Series, a genre-independent collection of new music from classical arrangements and originals to pop music. The title tune, Bert Appelmont's "The Strangeness of Creation," was commissioned by the Dutch fanfare orchestre St. Willibrordes Winterre in 2016 and has been adapted into a brass band version. It is composed of four movements - Birth, Battle, Stillness, and Water - based on the splendor and power of nature. Appelmont's colorful sound expresses the richness of nature, etc., and is sure to captivate all who hear it. The program also includes Franco Cesarini's second small symphony, "Rider's Sinfonietta," Kyoshi Yagisawa's march "Spring Flowers," original works by Philip Spark and Jan van der Roost, as well as a variety of pop music works by Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga. This album is sure to be useful for a wide range of music selections, from concerts to small mini-concerts.
