Tippett Rise Opus 2017 Music Festival" is a collaboration of space and music held at the Tippett Rise Art Center in the midst of the American wilderness, featuring a splendid lineup of performers! The Tippet Rise Art Center, located in the middle of Montana on a vast 41 km2 prairie, is a space that combines nature and art, with huge outdoor sculptures in the midst of the wilderness. Following the live recording of the "Tippett Rise Opus 2016 Music Festival" (PTC 5186660), which featured Matt Hymowitz and other great performers at this art center that also has a music performance venue, a recording of the "Tippett Rise Opus 2017 Music Festival" is now available. In addition to Matt Hymowitz on cello and Anne-Marie McDermott and Evgeny Sudbin on piano, who also performed at the festival in 2016, the 2017 program is even more diverse, featuring Jessica Schindel on flute and Doug Perkins on percussion. The booklet is filled with photographs of "Daydream," a commissioned sculpture by leading contemporary sculptor Patrick Dougherty.In a natural setting of great scale, one can feel the interplay between sculpture and music, space and time, nature and art, He made a sensational recording debut with Deutsche Grammophon in 1988, recording with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Levine. Since then, in 1999, he has been performing on his own label, Oxingale Records, in a truly diverse program that ranges from baroque to contemporary, as well as jazz and rock, transcending genre boundaries."
