Description:
The Homburg & Handel's Company, the Stuttgart Himnus Boys Choir, and the Stuttgart Himnus Ensemble for boys' choir and antique instrumental ensemble perform Bach's Christmas Oratorio in six parts. Although it is often performed in six parts, each part was written as a work to be performed during the holidays from Christmas 1734 to the Feast of the Epiphany in 1735 (January 6). Conductor Rainer Johannes Homburg, born in Gelsenkirchen in 1966, is a conductor and organist. A connoisseur of ancient and church music, Homburg founded the Handel's Company, an ancient instrument ensemble in Stuttgart in 1999, and has served as artistic director of the Stuttgart Himnus Boys Choir (Stuttgarter Himnus Kohaknaben) since 2010. Homburg recorded the John Passion in 2015 (MDG. 90219856). This time he will perform J.S. Bach's blockbuster Christmas Oratorio with this festive atmosphere, accompanied by the pristine sound of the Stuttgart Himnus Boys Choir. King International
