King, and many others, she has worked in a wide range of genres She has also collaborated with and performed with many artists including Pet Shop Boys, Annie Lennox, and B.B. King. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the release of her debut album and masterpiece, "Hopelessly in Love," Carol Thompson took the UK music scene by storm in 1981 with the single "Simply in Love," which was followed by her first album "Hopelessly in Love," which was reissued on CD and analog. She released her debut album, "Hopelessly in Love," with the song, which became a long-running hit that remained a top 10 entry on the UK reggae charts for more than four months. The album was a hit, selling over one million copies and catapulting her to the forefront of the UK reggae scene as the "Queen of Lovers Rock". The album's gentle, romantic sound has graced everything from dancehalls to bedrooms, and has remained the soundtrack of its era in the public's mind, and was voted "Greatest Lovers Rock Album" by the readers of MOJO magazine.The reissue of "HOPELESSLY IN LOVE" features the latest remastered soundtrack of the original album and faithfully reproduces the original artwork. In celebration of the album's 40th anniversary, Carol Thompson has announced plans for an anniversary tour this fall. This is a masterpiece of lovers' rock music that we want to hear again now.
