Milt Jackson, a jazz vibraphonist known as a member of the Modern Jazz Quartet, and Ray Charles, a highly successful R&B singer and Atlantic's signature artist whose soulful playing took the world by storm in the 1950s. The two musicians met and performed together in a dream collaboration on the classic 1958 album "SOUL BROTHERS", which is now being reissued in analog with mono soundtracks from the time of its release. This album features Milt Jackson, who was popular for his cool bebop/standard jazz style centered around the bebop, and Ray Charles, a great artist of soul music/R&B. This album is Ray Charles' first album released on the Atlantic label. It was Ray Charles' second jazz album, following the release of "THE GREAT RAY CHARLES" on the Atlantic label.While Ray Charles' R&B songs were released as singles and garnered tremendous success in the pop market, his work in album format expressed his exploration of modern jazz.
