The role of the main character, Aoyama-kun, will be voiced by Kitakana, a young actress who won the role in an audition. This is her first participation in an animated film. Yu Aoi, who won the Best Leading Actress Award at the 41st Japan Academy Prize, will play the role of Aoyama's older sister, who has both an innocent and cheerful side and a mysterious air about her. Aoyama's classmates are played by popular voice actors Rie Kugimiya and Megumi Ban, while Hidetoshi Nishijima plays Aoyama's father and Naoto Takenaka plays Mr. Hamamoto's father. The theme song will be sung by Hikaru Utada!
