Zirafedge is the solo project of San Francisco-based producer/beat-maker Charlie Yen. He burst onto the scene in 2011 with his debut EP Pretty Things, followed by the dreamy synth-pop album Comfort. Comfort, described by XLR8R as "an overflowing slice of electronic pop with pleasant ambient and sample-laden instrumentation. In February 2013, he dropped "Needs," a mixtape on Daddy Kev's Alpha Pup label, an important label in the West Coast beat scene, and Pitchfork called him an "omnivore," but his bold sampling and clever edits of '80s and '90s pop and soul music are as much about the music as it is about the music itself. In the meantime, he signed a contract with Fool's Gold, an excellent electronic dance music label run by producer/DJ A-Trak. The sound is a more refined version of his previous approach, with future bass and beat music that skillfully traverses chill, trap, and other styles. The song "Tell Me," with its chopped vocals and bubble wrap riff, is a killer tune that has become a hot topic of conversation around the Internet.Recently, she has also made a splash with her remix of R&B princess Tinashe, a rising star who also made her first visit to Japan, which has already received more than 700,000 views. Also included as a bonus track on this album is a remix of "Tell Me" by Qrion, a young female trackmaker from Sapporo, Japan, who also co-wrote "Every Square Inch" (with Qrion) with Ryan Hemsworth, and is attracting worldwide attention!
