Aka Duo, three-time winners of international chamber music competitions and rising star duo based in Vienna, presents an album of unknown masterpieces of Polish chamber music. The album features masterpieces from the classical to the modern era, such as Chopin's master Elsener, Magin's unique and memorable sound, and sonatas by Tansman and Paderewski, which are rarely performed, but are known by name among dedicated music fans. Formed by violinist Ina Matsuoka and pianist Yuto Kiguchi, Aka Duo will be in its seventh year in 2025, having won three international competitions in 2022 and 2023, and having expanded their activities in Europe and the United States, they will make their debut at the "Chopin and His Europe" festival in the summer of 2024, In the spring of 2025, she will give a recital at the Musikverein in Vienna. This CD is the result of a proposal by NIMiT (Polish National Institute of Music and Dance), which was impressed by his performance and interpretation when he won the International Competition of Polish Music (2023). This is a disc of works that should be called the hidden treasures of Polish chamber music, recorded with a meticulous compositional approach and bold, lively interpretations that are well worth listening to.Aka Duo won the 34th Aoyama Music Award Baroque Saal Prize in 2024, and their future activities in Japan are highly anticipated.
