At the beginning of the 20th century, many composers, including the members of the "Spanish Group of Eight," modeled after the French Group of Six, competed in their creation, but most of them were scattered and their works forgotten during the Spanish Civil War of 1936-1939. The three composers whose works are included in this album were also affected by the civil war, but they all wished for the development of Spanish music and continued to write their works even after leaving their homeland. Each of the three trios is unique in its own way: Blanco, dominated by passionate rhythms; Pompeii, with its mysterious melody; and Gombao, with its impressive second movement that invites nostalgia.
