Adrian Smith had this to say about the project. Ritchie and I started working together a few years ago. We had been jamming as friends for a few years before that. We share a love of classic rock and bluesy rock, so we decided to get together and start writing songs. Almost everything on the album is handled between Richie and I, including production. We had a strong idea of what we wanted it to sound like, and we're very happy with how it turned out. There are a lot of cool songs on it, and we're really happy with it," commented Richie Kotzen. Writing the songs was a very fluid process. Sometimes Adrian would send me a riff and I would immediately have an idea for a melody or a vocal. Sometimes it was the other way around, and we went in circles. There was no pressure or anything, it was a natural process, and I think this album speaks for itself." In December, the band released a new song "Taking My Chances" under the name SMITH/KOTZEN, which has just brought great excitement to the scene, receiving rave reviews from rock fans and media worldwide. The song was released to great excitement and acclaim from rock fans and media around the world. The scene had high expectations to hear more work from these two, and now their work will finally be released to the world in the form of an album.The two talents of Adrian and Ritchie collide at a high level to unleash "SMITH/KOTZEN", an innovative and exciting collaboration that will illuminate the world of rock music in 2021 and beyond...! The two American and British rock icons have teamed up to release "SMITH/KOTZEN" in three formats: a digipak CD, a standard analog disc, and a limited edition red and black smoke-effect color analog disc.
