The only album released in 1978 by Althea & Donna, a teenage female duo from Jamaica who achieved international stardom with the global hit “Uptown Top Ranking.” Led by the album’s title track—which features the iconic rhythm made famous by Alton Ellis’s classic “I’m Still in Love with You,” a song that laid the foundation for rocksteady—the duo gained immense popularity as one of the leading reggae duos of the late 1970s. The backing band, The Professionals, led by Joe Gibbs, featured musicians such as Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare. The contrast between the rich, full-bodied backing sound and the duo’s cute, youthful vocals continues to captivate listeners around the world to this day. Limited edition clear "Coke Bottle" vinyl.
