A departure from the drum-machine and synthesizer-driven previous album, the band returns to sharp guitar rock, filling the packed venue with a physical thrill that tears at the heart of the most pure rock record ever, opening with a bombastic cover of Bill Callahan's "Held," released under the name Smog, and then moving on to a more minimalist, minimalist sound, with the band's own "Hail to the Lord," a song that is a bit more melodic than the original.
