Description:

The straightest rock record ever! Spoon, a band that has been at the forefront of US guitar rock for over 20 years, releases their latest album "Lucifer on the Sofa", their first album in 5 years! Co-produced by Mark Rankin, who has worked with Adele, Queens of the Stone Age, and Weezer, the album was recorded on tape in the band's hometown of Austin for the first time in over 10 years. A departure from the drum-machine and synthesizer-driven previous album, the band returns to sharp guitar rock, filling the packed venue with a physical thrill that tears at the heart of the most pure rock record ever, opening with a bombastic cover of Bill Callahan's "Held," released under the name Smog, and then moving on to a more minimalist, minimalist sound, with the band's own "Hail to the Lord," a song that is a bit more melodic than the original. The album features 10 tracks in all, from the preceding "The Hardest Cut," an ensemble of detuned, minimalist guitar riffs that showcase the band's true colors, to the tension-filled "Wild," to the glossy, pre-dawn ballad "Astral Jacket," and more. The 10th album is the 10th album by the best rock band, and it is the 10th album that represents the best rock music.
