Her cool and smooth vocals, influenced by Janet Jackson and Aaliyah, and her production sense, which comes from Regelbau, a Danish group that has digested various styles such as house, techno, ambient, electronica, and jungle, have been attracting a lot of attention. Erika de Cassiere has released her latest album "Sensational", her first since moving to <4AD>! The album expands on the world of her debut album "Essentials," which was independently produced in 2019, with a story about love and deconstructing the stereotype of single women looking for love, and features her ally DJ CENTRAL aka Natal Zaxx as co-producer/engineer! The production also beautifully incorporates the gloss of AOR and blacon.The album includes preceding singles such as "No Butterflies, No Nothing," a love song about tragic love with an elegant, minimalist backing track; "Drama," a silky voice that delivers a sad guitar arpeggio and garage R&B thinned out production as the star of the show; and "Polite," a Brit funk-tinged mid-tune that laments a nightmarish date against the backdrop of an anti-bad boy tune.
