Description:

The legendary David Bowie continues to pioneer the era, and his 1970 album, which marked the beginning of the 70's glam rock era, is now back with the latest mixes...! THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD" was released in the US in 1970. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of its release, it is now available in a new edition wearing the original album title and artwork that were planned when it was first produced! Here, along with the latest mix soundtrack by Tony Visconti, is a fan favorite that brilliantly brings the initial concept of the album back to life in the modern age! David Bowie is a legend who has always been ahead of his time. The Man Who Sold the World" was released in the U.S. in 1970 as a follow-up to his smash hit "Spaced Oddity", and captured a great prelude to the coming glam-rock era. Released in the U.S. in 1970 and worldwide in April 1971, The Man Who Sold the World captures David Bowie's march into the 70's. The album is a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Bowie's death, and the album's title and artwork are the same as originally planned. The album was released in the U.S. in 1970 and worldwide in April 1971, and captured the image of David Bowie as he moved forward into the 1970s, It was also the beginning of a collaboration with guitarist Mick Ronson, with whom he worked on such classics as "Ziggy Stardust," "Aladdin Sane," and "Scary Monsters" in the 1980s. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the first release of this masterpiece, and the album is being released as a 50th anniversary commemorative album under the original title "Metroborist," which was originally planned. In fact, the original stereo master tape of this work was firmly labeled "The Metroboroist," but the title was replaced with "The Man Who Sold the World" just before its release. The new release, "The Metroboroist (aka The Man Who Sold the World)," will feature a new 2020 mix by Tony Visconti, who was also the producer of the original album. Of the nine songs on the album, all but "After All" have been remixed for 2020. Tony decided that "After All" was in perfect condition with the current sound, so the 2015 remastering was used. (1/2)
