Danish post-punk band Ice Age has completed its fifth album, "Seek Shelter," after three years. The band's first outside producer is Peter Kember of Spacemen 3, aka Sonic Boom. This is the most important album of 2021, released amidst the post-punk revival. Copenhagen's Iceage (Elias Bender Ronnenfelt, Jakob Tvilling Pless, Johan Surrballe Wieth, Dan Kjar Nielsen) will release their fifth album, Seek Shelter, on May 7 on Mexican It will be released on May 7 on Mexican Summer. Recorded in a Lisbon studio, the album was produced by Sonic Boom (Pete Kember of Spacemen 3). It was mixed by Grammy winner Shawn Everett (Haim, The War On Drugs, Kasey Musgraves) and features Casper Morilla Fernandez as an additional guitarist.We had a clear vision of how we wanted to open up the album, but the end result was still a surprise," said Elias Bender Ronnenfelt. Iceage was formed in 2008 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Their debut album "New Brigade" was released on Matador Records in 2011. Their four albums to date have all received critical acclaim, including being named Best New Album by Pitchfork, and their most recent release, Beyondless, released in 2018, has been featured on Pitchfork, NME, Stereogum, Noisey, Paste, Under the Radar, and many others. Under the Radar, and many others have named it one of the best albums of the year. The band has performed at Coachella and various other festivals. Through solo performances and Summer Sonic, the band is highly popular in Japan.
