Description:

Specialists in British Music! Malcolm Arnold by Ramon Gamba! The masterpieces of Malcolm Arnold, one of the greats of British music! Michael Collins joins in "Clarinet Concerto No. 1"! Malcolm Arnold, who picked up the trumpet at the age of 12 after admiring Louis Armstrong, showed great talent and joined the London Philharmonic Orchestra, where he later became the principal trumpet player. He joined the London Philharmonic Orchestra, where he later became principal trumpet player. In 1948, he became a full-time composer, composing nine symphonies and more than 100 film scores, for which he received an Academy Award for composition. This work, under the direction of Ramon Gamba, who has brought to light many of Malcolm Arnold's buried works, is a masterpiece that has remained unknown even in his native England because of his prolific output. The "Clarinet Concerto No. 1" performed by Michael Collins, one of England's leading clarinetists, and many other works that are a must-hear for fans of British music. This album contains music spanning Arnold's career as a composer, from "Larch Tree" (1943), written for the London Philharmonic Orchestra, to "Philharmonic Concerto" (1976).Divertimento was written for the newly formed National Youth Orchestra, and the overture "Christmas in the Commonwealth" was commissioned by the BBC for the 25th anniversary of King George VI's first Christmas broadcast in 1932. Clarinet Concerto No. 1 was written for Frederick Thurston and premiered at the Edinburgh Festival in 1949. The Padstow Lifeboat, orchestrated by Philip Raine, is a march for brass band originally composed to commemorate the launching of a new lifeboat in Padstow (a port town on the north coast of England) in 1968.
