The soundtrack to the movie *NIMRODS*, in which they are listed as producers and also appear, is set for release. This coming-of-age road movie, conceived by director and screenwriter Lee Kirk in collaboration with Green Day and produced by Tim Perell, draws inspiration from the band’s own real-life experiences as young men. ■ The story of *NIMRODS* begins when three high school students, mistakenly believing they’ve been booked to open for Green Day, set out on a road trip to Los Angeles. Their road trip unfolds as an adventure-filled, raucous, and mischievous journey across the country, drawing inspiration from Green Day’s own experiences and youth as they toured the U.S. in their tour van. The cast of this coming-of-age story, which depicts their friendship and passion for music, features Mason Thames, Kayler Kofman, Ryan Faust, Ignacio Diaz-Silveiro, Keen LaFaro, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, McKenna Grace, Fred Armisen, Bobby Lee, and Sean Gunn. ■ The soundtrack for *NIMRODS* features 22 of the band’s most iconic hits—including “BasketCase,” “When I Come Around,” “BrainStew,” and “American Idiot”—22 popular tracks representing the band’s career—as well as the new song “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.” and four previously unreleased live tracks from their Los Angeles Palladium concert, which are also featured in the film, for a total of 30 songs! In addition to Green Day’s songs, the album features tracks by The Paradox—a pop-punk band endorsed by Billy Joe Armstrong— Ultra Q, an alternative band led by Billy Joe’s eldest son, Jacob Armstrong; a track by McKenna Grace, who also appears in the film; and four songs by the fictional band Analog Dogs featured in the movie—all of which enrich the film’s world. ■Although a Japanese release date has not yet been set, *Nimrods* is sure to be a must-see not only for Green Day fans but for all rock kids. The soundtrack, packed with new Green Day songs and unreleased live recordings, is also a must-listen for all rock kids.
