Description:

<The latest reissue of Switner's Bruckner recordings, which started in 1986, is divided into two volumes. The masterpieces of Bruckner Nos. 5, 7, and 8 from his last years are newly reissued from the master tapes recorded by U-Matic. Unfortunately, only five Bruckner symphonies were recorded between 1986 and 1990, the last period of his career. He originally intended to conduct a complete symphony cycle, but due to health problems, he resigned as general director of the Staatskapelle Berlin in 1990, which made it impossible for him to conduct effectively. In his last years, Switner left behind for the Berliner Klassiks a series of large-scale performances of Bruckner and Brahms that seem to sum up his career. The Bruckner, in particular, had never been recorded in a session before, and at a time when Bruckner performances and recordings were increasing worldwide, it was a welcome source of information. However, since there are many recordings suitable for high sound quality among the digital recordings that were introduced after 1985, well after the other labels, we have introduced mastering by Mr. Christoph Stickel as with the analog recordings. Therefore, we introduced mastering by Mr. Christoph Stickel as well as analog recordings. The process of mastering by Mr. Stickel is not so different from that of analog recordings, even if it is a digital source, and he dares to convert the original "U-Matic tapes" (there are very few facilities in the world that can play them nowadays) to analog once, and then re-master them in the analog domain as before. The original master recording method was used. Although the recording method of the original master is different, the SACD format is more consistent than the mastering of the conventional analog master. Please check the sound quality. (1/3)
