Phoenix is a French quartet that has captivated the world with their sophisticated pop sensibility, outstanding songwriting ability and melodic sense, and their exquisite blend of rock and soul styles and electronics. After finishing the tour for their last album "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix", which won the Grammy Award for "Best Alternative Rock Album", the first time for a French artist to win the award, the band started experimenting with various sounds in a studio in New York. The work in New York was the first step for the band to "create a new sound for the French people. This work in New York seemed to make them more aware of their "Frenchness," and they returned to France to work on the new album, "BANCRAPT! is a wonderful work that shows a different shade of Phoenix's sound from the past, while still resonating with an exquisite pop sensibility that is rightly "Phoenix"! At first listen, it sounds like a very simple pop song, but the more you listen to it over and over again, the more you discover the intricate and calculated soundscape hidden behind the simplicity, and the more you are captivated by its depth, The experimental sound is developed throughout the entire album.Experimental" is of course the word, but of course Phoenix has exquisite taste, and their crystal-clear, top-quality pop is more refreshingly unleashed than ever before.
