Argentina's Passionate Passion! Gustavo Dudamel appeared at the Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Concert in 2017. The young Benesuela conductor, who now conducts top-notch orchestras around the world, will release a video of an outdoor concert at the Hollywood Bowl in the summer of 2016 with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, where he is Music Director as of 2017. The concert, titled "Tango under the Stars," is a spectacular live video of the world-renowned dance company performing at night at the Hollywood Bowl to the music of tango revolutionary Piazzolla. And the highlight of the evening will be the guitar concerto by Lalo Schifrin, a Buenos Aires-born composer and film music icon who has composed for over 100 films and TV series, including "Operation Spy," "The Burning Dragon," and "Mission in Possible," as the third son of the Romero family of geniuses. The world premiere of the concerto will be performed by Angel Romero, the third son of the Romero family of guitar geniuses and the last master of the Spanish guitar world.Lalo Schifrin also made an appearance at the end of the performance to enliven the audience. The program also featured works by Argentine composers full of color, rhythm, and passion, including Dudamel's signature piece, Hinastera's Suite "Estancia," which he often performs with the Simon Bolivar Orchestra.
